Kraken Parent Payward Links With Singapore Gulf Bank for Round-the-Clock Crypto Settlement
Payward integrates SGB Net to enable 24/7 institutional settlement across Asia and the Gulf, while Kraken Prime gains a new liquidity channel.
Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, has partnered with Singapore Gulf Bank to give institutional clients continuous settlement capabilities across Asia and the Gulf region, the companies announced Sunday. The integration centers on SGB Net, Singapore Gulf Bank's real-time clearing network, which eliminates the time-zone gaps that have historically complicated large digital asset transactions.
For institutional traders operating across multiple jurisdictions, around-the-clock settlement has long been a practical hurdle. By plugging into SGB Net, Payward's institutional clients can now clear positions at any hour without waiting for traditional banking windows to open, a constraint that has disadvantaged digital asset markets relative to foreign exchange and other always-on financial instruments.

As part of the agreement, Singapore Gulf Bank will also onboard Kraken Prime — Payward's institutional prime brokerage arm — as an additional source of digital asset liquidity. That arrangement is designed to deepen the pool of available assets for SGB's own institutional clientele, creating a two-way benefit that extends beyond simple settlement infrastructure.
The deal reflects a broader push by regulated financial institutions to bridge conventional banking rails with digital asset markets, particularly in growth corridors spanning Southeast Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council states. Both regions have seen accelerating regulatory clarity around digital assets, making institutional-grade infrastructure partnerships increasingly viable.
