Kraken's Payward, Singapore Gulf Bank Launch Round-the-Clock Settlement
Payward integrates SGB Net for instant institutional settlement in Asia and the Gulf, with Kraken Prime added as a liquidity source.
Payward, the corporate entity behind the Kraken cryptocurrency exchange, has partnered with Singapore Gulf Bank to enable around-the-clock settlement for institutional digital asset clients across Asia and the Gulf region, the companies announced Sunday.
The integration centers on SGB Net, Singapore Gulf Bank's real-time clearing network, which allows institutional counterparties to finalize transactions at any hour without waiting for traditional banking windows. The move addresses a long-standing friction point in digital asset markets, where settlement delays can expose firms to price and counterparty risk.

As part of the agreement, Singapore Gulf Bank will also onboard Kraken Prime — Kraken's institutional trading arm — as an additional source of digital asset liquidity. That arrangement is expected to deepen the pool of assets available to institutional clients operating through the bank's network in both regions.
The partnership reflects a broader push by crypto-native firms to build infrastructure that meets institutional standards, particularly in fast-growing markets across Southeast Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council states, where regulatory frameworks for digital assets have been evolving rapidly.
